2011 saw a delectable gentleman ask himself… ‘Why isn’t there a gothic festival in Birmingham?’ and from that little question grew a community participation project putting many to shame.

Dark Heart Events is a Community Interest Company formed to provide and support events for the alternative community across the midlands. Through these events we aim to promote and develop artistic talent within the alternative community, enhance the public’s perception of all things ‘goth’, fight intolerance and injustice and maybe, just maybe, have a little fun along the way. The company was formed in 2011 and is run by a committee comprising members of the midlands alternative community, all of whom give their time and effort for free.

Our flagship project, Midland Goth Festival, is due to be launched in February 2012. Other events include ghost walks, cinema days, live music, DJ competitions, and excursions to affiliated events.
